Registered Acupuncturist and Herbalist in BC, Canada
Kori’s passion for Chinese medicine stems from her long-standing interest in Eastern philosophy and her personal experience with the benefits it brought to her rheumatoid arthritis. She began her studies at Oshio College in Victoria, BC, before transferring to Pacific Rim College, where she completed both the Practitioner and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine programs, graduating as valedictorian with summa cum laude honours. Dedicated to the study of Classical Chinese medicine, Kori is involved in mentorship communities, studying Jing Fang Classical Herbal Medicine through Dr. Eran Even, Dr. TCM, PhD, and as a member of the White Pine Circle, founded by Sharon Weizenbaum. She has also completed a hands-on mentorship in advanced cosmetic acupuncture with Illya Borreson in Victoria, BC, allowing her to offer a specialized approach to cosmetic acupuncture that blends traditional methods with modern skincare to encourage natural rejuvenation. Kori integrates traditional and contemporary acupuncture techniques, cupping, gua sha, tui na and classical herbal formulas to address a range of conditions- from pain to internal imbalances to mental health concerns. Kori’s background in nutrition, inspired by her father who was a dietitian, shapes her belief that a warm and nourishing diet is fundamental to building a solid foundation for overall health. Her practice is grounded in the principles of Classical Chinese medicine, which view the body as an interconnected system, recognizing patterns and their relationship to the external environment. Kori applies these principles to get to the root cause. |
